LOCAL CUISINE: FLAVORS WORTH EXPERIENCING

We know that a great adventure whets the appetite.

We know that a great adventure works up an appetite. While something very special is “simmering” in our kitchens for the upcoming reopening of our restaurant (where we will soon delight you once again with the very best of our land), we want to make sure you enjoy the finest gastronomy in the area.

Currently, the hotel offers a full breakfast service so you can start your day full of energy. For lunch and dinner, we invite you to explore the nearby villages and discover why in Málaga eating is almost a religion.

Here is our personal selection of favorites:

Just a Step Away: Views and Tradition
If you prefer not to stray too far from the Caminito del Rey, in Ardales and El Chorro you will find two timeless classics:

Restaurante El Mirador: As its name suggests, it offers privileged views over the reservoir. It is the perfect place to try game meats (venison, wild boar) or traditional Málaga-style suckling goat.

El Kiosko: Located very close to the northern access of the Caminito. Ideal both for a relaxed lunch in the restaurant area or something quicker in the bar section. The atmosphere is always lively and welcoming.

Carratraca: The “Casa Pepa” Experience

Visiting Carratraca without stopping by Casa Pepa is almost a sin. This is not a typical restaurant, but a former inn that preserves the essence of a traditional family eatery.

Why go? Don’t expect a menu; here you eat whatever the family has cooked that day with fresh ingredients, just as if you were dining at your grandmother’s home. It is so authentic that even Prince Charles of England (now King) once stopped here to taste their traditional stews.

Teba: The Charm of “El Paripé”

If you feel like visiting the historic town of Teba (famous for its castle and its Scottish history), we recommend stopping at El Paripé.

What will you find? A place with a fantastic atmosphere (“the excitement you expect,” as they say) where you can enjoy carefully prepared cuisine and warm service that will make you feel like one of the locals.

Campillos: The Quality of “Bar Benito”

For more demanding palates seeking top-quality produce, Bar Benito in Campillos is the benchmark.

The specialty: They are famous for their mastery of the grill. You simply cannot leave without trying their bluefin tuna or select meats (presa, sirloin), all paired with a very carefully curated wine cellar.
